Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to the information you give Get Married in Georgia ("we", "us") when you use getmarried.ge, ask for a quote or message us. We keep it short because we collect little.

What we collect

• What you send us. The quote form asks for your first name, email, phone or WhatsApp number if you choose to give it, both nationalities, the country you live in, your preferred month, whether either of you has been married before, and anything you add in the message. If you write to us by email or WhatsApp, we receive whatever you include there.
• Documents, later and only if you go ahead. To prepare a marriage registration we need passport scans and, where it applies, a divorce decree or death certificate. We ask for these by message after you have received your quote, never through this website.
• How you found us. With your enquiry we store the page you arrived on, the referring site and any campaign tags in the link you followed, so we know which of our pages and adverts are useful.
• Anonymous usage statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not identify individual visitors.

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

• To reply to you with a document list, a timeline and a fixed quote.
• To prepare, book and register your marriage and legalize your certificate if you decide to go ahead.
• To keep records that Georgian law and our own accounting require.
• To understand which pages and adverts bring enquiries, in aggregate.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, our legal bases are: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract; our legitimate interest in running and improving the service; and legal obligations that apply to us.

Who we share it with

We work with a wedding services provider in Tbilisi that carries out document preparation, registry bookings, ceremonies and legalization. When you ask for a quote we pass your enquiry to them so they can prepare it and, if you go ahead, deliver the service. Beyond that, your information is shared only with:

• the public bodies that have to see it for the marriage to be registered and the certificate legalized: the Public Service Development Agency of Georgia, the Ministry of Justice, and the embassy or ministry that legalizes your certificate;
• sworn translators, notaries and the courier that delivers your documents;
• the companies that host this website and deliver our form submissions and email, acting on our instructions.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Where it is processed

We are based in Georgia, and some of our service providers operate in the European Union and the United States. If you contact us from the EEA or the UK, your information is therefore transferred outside those regions. Where we rely on processors abroad, we use providers that commit to standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Bookings: the file, including document copies, is kept for as long as Georgian law requires records of the service, and no longer than 6 years.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it or ask us to restrict it, and ask for it in a portable format. If we rely on your consent for anything, you can withdraw it at any time. Message us on WhatsApp or call +995 511 55 55 26 and we will answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live, or to the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia.

Children

Our service is for adults. Georgia does not allow marriage under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top. For anything significant, we will tell the couples whose enquiries are still open.
